What Does a Medical Assistant Do?

MAs assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician and a nurse practitioner. They interview patients, measure vital signs, and records information on patient's medical record. MAs prepare treatment rooms and may be required to draw and collect blood samples as well as prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. MAs even administer oral medications or injections!

In Georgia, on average, Medical Assistants make $18.00- $24.00 per hour or $36,800 - $49,920 annually

Do I Need any Prior Medical Training?

No. Being a Certified Medical Assistant requires a high school diploma or GED.

  • 800 Clock hours

  • 600 hours of in-person theory

  • Day Class: M-Th (25 weeks)

  • M-Th: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM in person

  • Evening Class: M-Th (50 weeks)

  • M-Th: 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM in person

Ways to Pay

Pay Through H.E.R.O

$7,500

  • Payment plans are built based on the students start date. First payment due date may vary.

  • H.E.R.O will not run a credit check.

  • H.E.R.O does not charge an interest rate but tuition must be paid in full prior to starting class.

$7,500 + Interest

  • Three months grace period for loan repayment.
