What Does a Nurse Aide Do?
Nurse Aides who pass the state licensing exam serve as the first line of care on the nursing team to patients in variety of settings. Patient care areas range from nursing home, hospice, hospitals, home care and more.
How Much Does a Nurse Aide Make?
The average Certified Nurse Aide salary in Georgia is $15.60 as of July 24, 2025, but the range typically falls between $11.91 and $20.42. Salary ranges can vary widely depending on the city and many other important factors, including education, certifications, additional skills.

GED or High School Diploma or Pass literacy exam with 75% or higher.

If you have a background concern, please let us know and different clinicals may be arranged. Students do NOT have to supply Wellstar requirements if they conduct labs onsite at the school.
Do I Need any Prior Nurse Aide Training?
No. Being a Certified Nurse Aide requires you to take and pass a Nurse Aide Training Program and pass the state licensing exam.

There is a minimum $500 deposit required
Payments for the DAY COURSE will be $282.67 per week for 3 weeks
Payments for the EVENING COURSE will be $169.60 per week for 5 weeks
Weekly payments will start the first week of class.

Must apply for funding in your county of residence noted on your state ID.
Must receive SNAP/TANF benefits OR received unemployment OR be unemployed OR be considered low income.
H.E.R.O is not responsible for your approval, but we collaborate with your local WorkSource office to start your education once you are approved for funding. Funding can take 4-6 weeks for approval if you qualify. See your local office information and apply HERE or call us for guidance 770-726-3577
